For Mark Sabb, experimentation sits at the very forefront of his creative practice. He approaches every project with an openness that challenges convention, allowing curiosity to guide his decisions rather than constraints or expectations. Simply put, there are no boundaries or limits to how he envisions, explores, or executes his work, each idea is an opportunity to push further, think differently, and redefine what is possible.

This commitment to creative freedom is reflected in his work at Felt Zine. As the Lead Creator, he consistently produces content that prioritizes innovation and immersive experiences, pushing the platform’s visual and conceptual boundaries. Originally founded in 2011 as an independent fashion magazine, the platform soon evolved into an experimental art collective and later became a space for 3D and digital art NFTs. Throughout these transitions, his work alongside co-creator Devon Moore has emphasized the importance of community, whether through in-person events, collaborative projects, or themed issues that celebrate the spirit of experimentation. His contributions not only shape the collective’s identity but also reinforce its role as a hub for boundary-breaking digital culture.

As the Director of Digital Content at the Asian Art Museum, he emphasizes this importance even further by strategically integrating a wide spectrum of cultural, aesthetic, and technological influences into the museum. His approach combines creative experimentation with digital strategy, allowing him to develop content that enhance both visibility and engagement.  Through cross-platform storytelling, multimedia production, UX-driven design principles, and data-informed audience insights, he builds digital experiences that deepen public connection to the museum’s mission. The result is a dynamic digital presence that not only highlights the museum’s collections and programming but also broadens access, strengthens cultural relevance, and positions the institution at the forefront of contemporary digital innovation.

In Episode 35, we explore how he first entered the world of digital content, his perspectives on the evolution of AI, and the ways digital technology is shaping society in profound and often indescribable ways. This episode also explores how his work at the Asian Art Museum and previously at the Museum of the African Diaspora, expanded his creative outlook even further, challenging him to refine his vision, deepen his technical range, and approach digital storytelling with greater intention and impact.
